Anthony Gibson of the N.F.U.

Anthony Gibson has proved yet again, he is not a fit person to be in the pay of the Farmers Union.

He runs with the hare and also with the hounds. He is at his happiest when cosying up to Government Ministers and the inner circle of Corporate Farmers who are happy to see the small farmers all go to the wall, whilst they reap the harvest of the C.A.P. handouts and turn it to their advantage.

Until the Farmers unite to remove Anthony Gibson and get a worthy advocate, they have no future. Parasites must be dealt with. (See ‘Letters’)

There are strong leaders waiting in Derek Mead and David Hanley. The time has come to back them and remove the scourge of the Government Lacky Anthony Gibson once and for all.

NFU Leadership Crisis Damaging

The Editor
Letters
Western Daily Press

Published 28th. December 2005

Sir - I was sad and angry when I read the letter from Anthony Gibson, paid regional director of the National Farmers’ Union. He attacks Chris Rundle, Western Daily Press agricultural editor, accusing him of being in a small minority regarding Derek Mead as a latter-day Moses.

Mead has been on the NFU council for five years, Gibson has been in the NFU for 25 years and I have been involved in farming and agricultural journalism for nearly 40 years.

In all that time, I have seen NFU presidents come and go, but not since Henry Plumb has there been a leader among them.

Gibson has had his chance to influence the NFU on behalf of those few members who remain in his region.

Mead, and his cohort David Handley, have yet to make a dent on the macadamia nut that is the inner cabinet of the NFU - and harder to crack.

Let’s get the pecking order right.

Gibson is paid by the members to be their voice, not to make up policy as he goes along.

Mead is one of the policymakers who sees their policies not being applied.

Like me, Rundle comments on the fiasco of a UK farming industry being made to dig its own grave through lack of leadership.

For all our sakes - the general public, that is - don’t do a “miners’ union” and split while farms close like the mines did.

We need home-produced food as much as we need coal. Both come out of the ground and both industries seem determined to get back in while fighting the wrong enemy and each other.

Gay Partnerships

. . well dass it den. . . .

. . aw dees queers is gettin marrid is dey? . . .

I don’t think ‘Married’ is really the proper term ‘Errol’. . . We can all love our brothers and sisters; . . and our mothers and fathers! . . But we also know just how far that love can extend. . . I believe Homosexuals should observe those same boundaries. . Marriage is for procreation, not unnatural gratification.

According to the Bible, the men of Sodom ‘were wicked, such sinners against the Lord, He decided to destroy them’. . . God allowed Lot, the one good man living there, to flee the town with his family, before God showed his wrath. But Lot’s wife disobeyed God’s warning not to look back towards Sodom as she fled, and she was turned into a pillar of salt, where she stood.

STOP GIVING IT AWAY

. . yer ! . . . stop givin’ ar bleedin’ munny away blare !

Well ‘Errol’, I’m not really sure what your contribution will be; . . but a £Billion is equal to £17,000 for EACH Man, Woman and Child in the country. All this given away by the people who intend to DOUBLE our Council Tax, whilst avoiding paying it themselves. . . I certainly can’t afford it.

Moreover consider the wages of the average small Farmer for working 7 days a week. . . Whilst they all sit on the European Gravy Train, with their disgusting noses stuck in the European trough. This continual talk of subsidised Farmers is completely erroneus. . Do we really want our Guardians of the Land and our home grown food producers, living like peasants. . . It is all of them in Brussels who are REALLY the subsidised ones!

Bovine Tuberculosis

. . I SEE DEYM GONNA DO FER AW DEY BLEEDIN BAJJERS. . .

:| It’s a great pity they made Badgers a protected species ‘Errol’. . Until that time Tuberculosis in cattle had been kept under control.

Tuberculosis is a deadly disease, the ravages of which become increasingly difficult to control, as the more obvious they become to everyone. . Already we are beginning to see that in the human population. . . Another clear case of ‘a stitch in time’ that has not been made.

The Decision is taken

. . Wot way er you votin’ den. . .

. . . Cameron er Davis ?. . . . .

Well if you really must know ‘Errol’, . . I’ve decided to go with David Cameron. . . It was a difficult decision, . . but I understand Mr.Hague is backing him, and I know Liam Fox is. . . If they judge the man to be competant, that’s good enough for me. . . I was backing Ken Clarke, because we want to win next time, and Ken understood the finer points of the New-Labour deceit after the ERM debacle, even though he’s a Pro-European. . . However I understand Ken will be giving David Cameron his full support as we strive to sort out the financial quagmire we would be inheriting from Gordon Brown should we win next time. . . . . He may yet go down in history as the most dangerous Chancellor of the Exchequor this country has ever had.

Once again ‘Errol’ has a clear grasp of the fundamental strategy of these corrupt officials of the New European Soviet. . .We got rid of one lot in Russia, and now weve been landed with another lot across the channel. . The sooner there’s a civillian uprising the better in my view.
