Dear Editor

The population is concerned about local crime and anti-social behaviour, plus the sentences received by the perpetrators, if caught.The present set-up of appointments and promotions of judges and police chiefs will not solve the problem. They should be open to elections every three years and be responsible to the local electors.

The judges could be borrowed from local solicitors, and paid for their work. This scheme already works successfully in the USA.

However, Britain is signed up to the Human Rights Act which often only benefits the wrong-doer.

David Macaulay like many in the media, presumes to draw concusions from the American Mid Term Election results; most of which are based purely on conjecture and bias. The final result reflected only the continuous World Media’s, anti-Bush, anti American, anti-semetic, pro-muslim propaganda that both Bush and Blair have had to contend with ever since Sadam Hussein was toppled. I suggest to everyone that if we had had the current World Media situation in place during World War 11; Adolf Hitler would have certainly been the victor, and Winston Churchill would have been banished from our shores. Or more likely, incarcerated at one of the concentration camps.

Once again our ‘Out of Control’ Prime Minister is hell-bent on destroying the last vestige of his credibility. . . He is again defying logic and now all good intelligence from the IT world. He is now trying to present Identity Cards as an ADVANTAGE; aswell as a benign accoutrement to Good Citizenship! . . For whom I ask? . The Mafia?

The only people who have nothing to fear from Digitally-Recorded Identity Cards are The Criminals. As with all other legislative controls, like the Gun Law Legislation, the Dangerous Dogs Act and the Drug Laws, the Criminals just ignore them, and treat them as a complete irrelevance. It will just be US, the honest law-abiding citizens, who will be left with the nightmare of a completely insecure, corruptible and uncontrollable, digital record of our entire existence, being made available to anyone with the determination to access it, misuse it, or steal it. . . Once created, a Corrupt ID will legitimize the illegitimate, and be impossible to detect or dispute; how ever much they eventually cost ! . . On budget! . . £5Billion!! . . Pull the other one!! . . £20Billion more like. I for one, will never allow myself to be manacled like a 21st Century Slave, just to satisfy the cravings of control freaks like Tony Blair and this New-Labour Government.

Start Building more jails Mr. Blair. . . . You might think you need them NOW! . . . But you’ll need an awful lot more to keep the rest of us secure and well fed; I promise you. . .
