I do wish you wouldn’t keep swearing ‘Errol’; but I have to agree. . . The world has gone completely mad. . . . He must be released immediately! . . He is a danger to no one. . . A very heavy fine with a prison sentence suspended would have been an adequate punishment; and a deterrant to others! . . This Government must be made to answer for it’s incompetence. . . . . It reminds me of when they jailed both Jeffrey Archer; and Lester Piggott! . . Their judgement and politics stink. . . They put murderers in open prisons and treat shoplifters and thieves as naughty children. . . . . . They make criminals out of farmers and hunters to appease animal rights activists! . . Yes ‘Errol’, it is very disturbing that they find it necessary to act in such a draconian manner with a respectable young lady when there are so many of the criminal classes who seem to be able to break the law at will without ramification.

Never before has so much money been misappropriated with so little to show for it; . . . . except the rich have got richer and the executive have all prospered. Dear Editor,

The climate change doom-mongers and green 4x4-haters have wasted no time in latching on to the latest figures emerging from weather centres at this time. I find their statistics to be, at the very least, dubious, when winter 1995/96 was without question the coldest winter for at least 10 years.

A telephone call to any heating oil supplier will confirm this fact. We just keep getting lies and statistics from all those involved.

Few in any Government department or public service can any longer be trusted to give us the unadulterated truth; whether it be crime figures, the health service, standards of education, our national security, our border controls or any other subject anyone cares to mention.
